This trip features over 250km’s of enduro style big mountain riding with more than 16,000m of descending in Kathmandu and Mustang Valley. Experience jaw-dropping views of the biggest mountains on earth and discover the allure of Nepal as you indulge in delicious cuisine and heart-warming local culture.

The adventure begins as your senses spring to life upon arrival in Kathmandu! Ride through the heart of the city and shuttle to the foothills of the Himalaya for an epic introduction to Himalayan singletrack. Spend a full day lapping Nagarkot trails, the best enduro zone in the country, and ride some newly built local singletrack. Travel to Pokhara by small aircraft and enjoy an evening on the town before catching another mind blowing flight high into the Himalayas. Experience the thrilling approach to Jomsom airport and ride the infamous trails of Mustang! Prepare for amazing views, huge mountains, and massive singletrack descents. Ride through multiple climate zones and shred down the deepest river gorge in the world! Ride tropical trails and relax in Pokhara before catching another small aircraft flight back to Kathmandu.

This trip is best suited for adventurous riders with strong intermediate to expert technical skills and a moderate level of fitness. The majority of the riding takes place between 1500m and 3800m, with the highest point of the trip being 4300m! The riding is roughly 70% singletrack, 30% doubletrack or roads, with a little bit of free-riding and hike-a-bike thrown in.

Itinerary

  • Fly into Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), transfer to hotel, catch up on some rest, and build your bikes.
  • Join us for an afternoon walking tour around Thamel, or visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, a Unesco World Heritage Site.
  • Mandatory pre-trip meeting with your guides over dinner and drinks.
    • We highly recommend arriving one or two days early to catch up on rest after a long flight, experience more of Kathmandu, and just in case of any luggage delays. Talk to us about booking extra nights for you at our preferred hotel.

Distance: 36km — Climb: 500m — Descend: 1850m

  • Enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast before heading out on our first ride, an XC ride, pedalling on the bikes right from the hotel! Experience exhilarating urban riding in Kathmandu and get a taste of local singletrack.
  • After this shakedown ride, we’ll roll right to Swayambhunath, The Monkey Temple for a quick temple tour and a delicious and hearty lunch.
  • Load into the shuttles for some afternoon laps of new local enduro trails then pedal back to town for some cold beers and salty snacks.
  • For dinner tonight we’ll visit a local restaurant for our first taste of Nepali Dal Bhat, along with some traditional cultural shows.

Distance: 18km — Climb: 150m — Descend: 1650m

  • After another buffet breakfast, we’ll load up and shuttle towards the foothills of the Himalayas, where the Kathmandu Classic Helipad Trail awaits. A beautiful ridge trail through the jungle, lined with prayer flags, and finishing with another exhilarating urban descent.
  • After a quick lunch stop, we’ll do a couple of shuttle laps of Bamboo Trail, easily considered to be one of the best singletrack trails in the Kathmandu valley.
  • After riding today we’ll load up into the jeeps and head for a quick drive to the Nagarkot Hilltop (2000m elevation),, where we’ll be staying at a peaceful mountain hideaway for the night and enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal.

Distance: 23km — Climb: 150m — Descend: 2200m

  • If the sky is clear this morning, you’ll get glimpses of Himalayan snow-capped peaks while sipping on fresh coffee and enjoying another hearty breakfast.
  • For our first lap of the day, we roll right from the hotel, and then spend the rest of the day lapping up all the amazing Nagarkot Trails. Home to the Asian Enduro Series, an EWS Qualifier, these trails are some of the best in the country for enduro style shredding!
  • After riding today, we head back to our original hotel in Thamel, and repack our bags for the next leg of our journey. We enjoy a chill night in Kathmandu and another group dinner, while our local ground crew starts the long drive up into the Himalayas.
  • This morning we’ll head to the airport to catch a short flight on a small passenger aircraft featuring incredible views of the Himalayas.
  • After touching down in tropical Pokhara, we’ll transfer to our hotel, settle in, and head out on foot to explore this lovely tourist town.
  • Sip drinks on the beach, shop ‘til you drop, rent a stand-up paddleboard, get a massage, or just catch up on some R&R.
  • We’ll have dinner tonight at one of our favourite local restaurants in Pokhara.
  • This morning we’ll head to the airport to catch a short flight on a small passenger aircraft featuring incredible views of the Himalayas.

Distance: 28km — Climb: 140m — Descend: 3050m

  • This morning we’ll gain 2000m of elevation the easy way as we fly amongst the world’s tallest mountains from Pokhara to Jomsom and the lower Mustang Valley, sitting at 2800m.
  • After reuniting with our bikes, we’ve got three big laps on tap for today! We’ll ride the lower section of the incredible Jomsom-Tilicho trail, the World Famous Lubra Magic Trail which is arguably the best trail in the country, and we’ll finish with our newly discovered secret free-ride trail, aptly named the Matt-Dai Trail.
  • We’ll roll right to our accommodations for the next couple of nights, a traditional Tibetan teahouse in Kagbeni where we’ll enjoy tasty, locally grown and prepared meals, along with comfy beds and fresh mountain air!

Distance: 18km — Climb: 225m — Descend: 1900m

  • This morning we’ll shuttle up towards Gyu La Pass, perched on the border of Upper and Lower Mustang, at 4100m. The new road takes us right up to the pass, so we can focus on the fun singletrack descent and magnificent mountain views!
  • We’ll load up for one more shuttle lap before lunch, stopping en-route at the famous Vishnu Muktinath Temple, a sacred place for both Hindus and Buddhists, before carrying on for another adventurous lap through the Lubra Village Trail. This trail gets steep and rugged with plenty of suspension bridges and landslide crossings!
  • Enjoy another delicious dinner tonight in our Kagbeni guesthouse.

Distance: 52km — Climb: 250m — Descend: 2800m

  • This morning we’ll shuttle back up to Muktinath to ride one more lap of the infamous and incredible Lubra Magic Trail. A definite highlight of the trip, this is one of the best trails we’ve ever ridden, anywhere on earth!
  • After a quick drive to Marpha Village for lunch, we’ll roll out on the bikes, ready for a big afternoon of XC riding and descending through the world’s deepest river gorge!
  • It’s a 40km ride that’ll have us rolling quickly out of the Himalayas, all the way down to Tatopani at 1200m. This is our tropical home for the night, where a welcome soak in the hot springs awaits us before a great dinner and good night’s sleep.

Distance: 33km — Climb: 165m — Descend: 1500m

  • After a casual breakfast in Tatopani, we’ll roll through thick jungles, breeze past big waterfalls, and see ancient temples as we make our way rolling down to Beni, where we’ll have a little break and meet up with our shuttle trucks.
  • We’ll load up and drive to the top of a high pass above Pokhara before dropping in on an unbelievably fun ride, on a mix of local singletracks and villager trails, ending back at lakeside Pokhara!
  • We’ll check back into our hotel and get ready to hit the town and celebrate our return.

Distance: 17km — Climb: 65m — Descend: 1325m

  • After a leisurely breakfast in tropical Pokhara, we’ll load up and shuttle to the base of the new Annapurna Cable Car, where we’ll enjoy the effortless uphill and another fun singletrack and urban ride back down to Pokhara on the lake.
  • We’ll load up for one more shuttle to the Shanti Stupa, also known as the World Peace Pagoda, with great views above Lakeside Pokhara, and drop in on a fun singletrack descent through the jungle, and some more urban riding right back to our hotel.
  • Enjoy some chill time this afternoon and pack up your bike before heading into town for one last dinner together. Time to celebrate the end of an epic trip!
  • After breakfast this morning we’ll hop aboard another small aircraft flight returning to Kathmandu.
  • Catch your afternoon or evening flights home from Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), or choose to extend your stay in Kathmandu.
