An incredible mountain biking adventure in search of the most amazing singletracks in Nepal! This trip features the best rides in the Himalayas, accessed by gondola, small aircraft, truck shuttles, and of course a bit of human power, or "Dal Bhat Power" as the locals would say. Experience jaw-dropping views of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri and Annapurna Mountains and discover rich cultural heritage in the Lower Mustang Valley.

The adventure begins immediately upon arriving in Kathmandu, a chaotic city that is an absolute feast for your senses! Travel to Pokhara, a tropical paradise, by private jeep and ride holy trails in the foothills of the Himalaya. Catch a flight to the roof of the world and experience a thrilling approach to Jomsom Village, the Gateway to the Mustang District. Ride to Kagbeni and Muktinath for two unbelievable days of shuttle-assisted trail riding featuring challenging climbs and huge descents. Experience multiple climate zones and ride through the deepest river gorge in the world! Descend over 5000 meters during the last few days and finish with an unbelievably fun urban descent into Lakeside Pokhara. Ride tropical trails and relax in paradise before catching another small aircraft flight back to Kathmandu and departing for home.

This trip is suitable for moderately fit riders with at least strong intermediate technical skills. The majority of the riding is between 2000m to 4000m with the highest point, Gyu La Pass, at 4500m! The riding is roughly 60% singletrack, 35% doubletrack, and 5% free-riding or hike-a-bike.

Trip Overview

    Day 1 - Arrival

    • Fly into Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), transfer to hotel, build bikes.
    • Join us for an afternoon tour of Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
    • Pre trip meeting with your guides over dinner and drinks.
    • We recommend arriving one day early to experience more of Kathmandu and just in case of luggage delays. Talk to us about booking an extra night for you.

    Day 2 - Warm-up ride and Transfer to Pokhara

    • Today we’ll leave behind the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu and head to peaceful Pokhara.
    • We’ll stop mid-way for our first ride in Nepal at the Manakamana Temple, the sacred place of the Hindu Goddess Bhagwati.
    • We’ll climb 1000m via cable-car and enjoy a technical downhill trail through the jungle before finishing the drive to Pokhara.

    Day 3 - Fly to Jomsom, Ride to Kagbeni

    • After breakfast we’ll load up with our bikes for an exciting flight to the roof of the Himalayas!
    • Upon landing in Jomsom, we’ll put our bikes back together and ride to Kagbeni, an historic village home to a population of Tibetan Buddhist Monks.
    • An acclimatization day, today’s ride will be a mellow 15 km’s on relatively flat jeep roads with the option for additional riding on the trails around Kagbeni.

    Day 4 - Shuttle to Muktinath. Ride to Kagbeni via Gyu La Pass

    • We’ll jump in the jeeps this morning and shuttle into the Mustang Valley via Jharkot village to Muktinath, a sacred place for both Hindus and Buddhists.
    • After a quick visit to Muktinath Temple, we’ll climb up to Gyu La Pass at 4500m, which borders on the restricted area of Upper Mustang.
    • Take in the incredible views before dropping in for a fast and fun 15 km downhill trail ride back to our guesthouse in Kagbeni. Optional hike-a-bike freeride lines this afternoon.

    Day 5 - Shuttle to Muktinath, Ride to Marpha via Lupra Pass

    • After breakfast we’ll shuttle back up to Muktinath where a 45 minute hike-a-bike will bring us to Lupra Pass at 4200m.
    • We’ll drop in on a long and flowing singletrack descent totalling 30 km’s - this is one of the best rides anywhere on earth!
    • Tonights accomodation in Marpha Village is home to abundant apple orchards, we’ll sample fresh apple pies and sip on homemade apple brandy.

    Day 6 - Ride Marpha to Larjung + Trail Ride

    • After a delicious breakfast including apple fritters and americano coffee we’ll ride downhill to Larjung via jeep roads and singletrack side trails.
    • We’ll stop for lunch and then head out on an afternoon ride up to a small mountainside village and back down through a beautiful pine forest.
    • Overnight in Larjung Village, located deep in the Kali Gandaki river valley.

    Day 7 - Ride Larjung to Tatopani

    • Today we’ll ride through authentic Nepali foothills and villages on a mix of singletracks and rugged jeep trails.
    • We’ll ride through the Kali Gandaki Valley, one of the world’s deepest river gorges, surrounded by the biggest mountains on earth!
    • After dinner, a welcome soak in the Tatopani natural hot springs awaits before settling in for another good night’s sleep.

    Day 8 - Ride Tatopani to Beni to Pokhara

    • From Tatopani we’ll roll through thick jungle and pass by ancient temples as we make our way to Beni, where our private shuttle vehicle will be waiting.
    • We’ll load up and drive to the top of a high mountain pass before dropping in on an unbelievably fun urban ride all the way down to Lakeside Pokhara.
    • Arriving just in time for a stunning sunset, we’ll enjoy cold drinks on the beach and then check into our accommodations in Pokhara.

    Day 9 - Ride Pokhara

    • After a leisurely breakfast in this tropic paradise, we’ll load up and shuttle to Sarangkot, overlooking the Annapurna’s to the North, and Pokhara to the South.
    • We’ll rip a fun singletrack descent back to lakeside Pokhara for lunch where you’ll have the option to ride more trails or simply chill out on the beach for the rest of the day.
    • Tonight we’ll head out for a nice dinner in Lakeside Pokhara and we’ll check out the local nightlife.

    Day 10 - Fly Pokhara to Kathmandu

    • Hop onboard for another small aircraft flight this morning, returning to Kathmandu.
    • Take in the majestic views of the Himalayan Mountain Range before touching down and transferring back to our hotel in KTM.
    • Visit local markets and temples this afternoon or relax with a cold drink. We’ll have one last group dinner tonight - a celebration of our incredible adventure!.

    Day 11 - Departure

    • Breakfast
    • Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) and depart.
